Enthusiasm Pervades at Elementary Schools

New equipment, fresh paint, new bathrooms greet students coming back to school.

Elementary schools around the Studio City area seemed to have a rather smooth beginning on Monday.

Carpenter Charter has six new teachers starting at the school. Parents took their Kindergarteners at Rio Vista had a half day, and Riverside Elementary started later than usual, because as they all know, nothing much gets done on the first day of school.

Colfax Charter has a new playground and a literacy garden, and Valley View has new bathrooms with auto-flush toilets and sinks that shut off automatically.

All the schools had a fresh coat of paint, new computer equipment and renewed enthusiasm by both parents and children for the new year.
