First Individual Stewardship Award Given to Ed Begley Jr.

The actor wins the honor at the Sustainability Awards in Santa Monica.

Ed Begley Jr. was honored with the first-ever Individual Stewardship Award for his vision, creativity, and commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the urban environment.

The awards were presented Wednesday night by the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Sustainable Works, and the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment at the 18th annual 2013 Sustainable Quality Awards at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel.

Former California State Senator Sheila Kuehl presented Begley the award. The awards honor significant achievements in the areas of sustainable economic development, social responsibility and stewardship of the natural environment. By recognizing local businesses, the Sustainable Quality Awards hopes to inspire other companies and individuals to adopt their own environmental measures to help conserve our natural resources.
