Jamie Lee Curtis Donates Books to Carpenter Charter School

The actress and best-selling author spent the day at the school Book Fair.

Jamie Lee Curtis, the actress of children's favorites like Freaky Friday (the one with Lindsay Lohan), Christmas with the Kranks, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, True Lies and My Girl, came to Carpenter Community Charter on Thursday to help out with the school Book Fair.

"She came in to the assemblies and she donated many books and personalized them for us," said Mary Fortuna Kuser, of the school's Governance Council.

The New York Times best-selling author met wtih students from Kindergarten through third grades, reading from a few of her books, including Today I Feel Silly: And other moods that make my day, and Is There Really A Human Race?, Big Words for Little People, and Where Do Balloons Go?

PTA President Andrew Barrett-Weiss said, "She was charming and it was a great help." He said that one of the parents worked with her on a project in the past and she asked if she could do anything for the school.

The actress donated her books to the school Spirit Store Sales and 100% of sales of the children's books go to Carpenter.
