LAPD Hopes Sobriety Checkpoints Scare Halloween Drivers to Stay Sober
Police expect higher-than-usual drinking during the weekend.
Sobriety checkpoints will be conducted Friday in Studio City and Saturday in Hollywood by the Los Angeles Police Department, in connection with higher-than-usual drinking expected during the weekend preceding Halloween.
A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted between 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday at Ventura Boulevard and Big Oak Drive in Studio City. (Attached is a video from July 4 when the LAPD North Hollywood Division announced a checkpoint near the Metro Red Line station on Lankershim Boulevard.)
Another sobriety checkpoint will be conducted between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday at Sunset Boulevard and Bronson Avenue in Hollywood.
Police advised people going to parties this weekend to:
-- Plan a safe way home before parties begin;
-- Designate a sober driver;
-- Call a taxi, call a friend or family member, or use public transportation to ensure you get home safely if you have had too much to drink; and
-- Take the car keys away from someone who is about to drive impaired and assist them in getting home safely.

and remember before you get pulled over at the checkpoint if you are sober...you don't need a drivers license or any form of i.d to present to the police thanks to Gil Cedillo and Jerry Brown. you could be a terrorist with a trunk fullof explosives and it doesn't matter ..but heaven forbid you have an accident and injure or kill someone...
