MUFON Investigates More Valley UFO Sightings

Witnesses report seeing things near Van Nuys and Burbank airports.

Southern California remains the area with the highest reported sightings of strange things in the skies than anywhere else in the country, according to the .

At theirattended by about 40 people, the state MUFON state section director Steve Murillo said that although things have slowed, he still gets reports.

“We still have a week, and the ones that are most compelling we launch investigations,” Murillo explained. “We don’t jump to any conclusions that what people are seeing are alien-based or have aliens in them. We gather the data as thoroughly as we can.”

In a recent local case in the San Fernando Valley, witnesses saw a red sphere in the sky for at least five minutes. The sphere was 100 to 500 feet away near the Van Nuys Airport and then a black helicopter circled it two or three times before it disappeared straight up into the sky. The case occurred in April, but was reported only recently.

“Unfortunately, people wait a long time to report cases, which makes it hard to follow up, but we do often get multiple sightings around the same times,” Murillo said.

Director of Investigations for MUFON, said he was also continuing to investigate sightings in Burbank around July 4.

“It is iffy when there are reports around July 4 because there are a lot of strange things in the skies, but this one had three lights in and the witness drove to get a better view,” Mistretta said. “There was another report on that was identical, and it occurred about 8 p.m. with six lights that went from South to West at a steady rate and then flew straight up and disappeared.”

Similar sightings were seen on May 6 in Venice where three lights were spotted and then went out.

The MUFON investigators plan to be on KPKF Radio 90.7 FM on Monday, Aug. 27 on the Cary Harrison Show.

On Tuesday,, a mechanical engineer, talked about anti-gravity devices and alien creatures. He talked about research into magnetic fields and a craft called TR3B. It is a large triangular-shaped craft. (See the video above in the photo gallery.)
