Rain Nightclub to West Hollywood: The Valley Just Got Gay

Studio City's First Upscale Gay Nightclub May Be a Game Changer in Gay Nightlife

San Fernando Valley residents are eagerly anticipating the Feb. 3, opening of the Valley’s first upscale gay nightclub, Rain Nightclub, in Studio City.  For years, residents of the Valley (who comprise at least 20% of the total population of Los Angeles) have driven “over the hill” to West Hollywood to find world class restaurants and night life; but not anymore.

“Rain is the first true destination for the gay community in the Valley,” boasts club owners Maurice Safizadeh and Mathieu McBee.  Mathieu, whose 24 years of bartending experience have taken him from Los Angeles to New Orleans, through the Midwest and across Europe, is excited to step out from behind the bar to bring a new look to gay nightlife in the Valley.

Rain will give bar-goers fresh entertainment seven nights per week from some of Southern California’s top promoters and tastemakers, including Candis Cayne (ABC’s “Dirty Sexy Money”), TJ Espinoza (Britney Spears World Tour; Beso Hollywood), Paul Nicholls (Hype Popstarz), Andrew Gruver (The Abbey), DJ Drew G (Dirty Pop), Dan De Leon and the creators of Girl Bar & Neon Blackout.  Patrons will enjoy everything from drag shows, musicals and acoustic sets, to '80s, '90s and top 40 hits and electronic dance music.

Rain features a custom, state-of-the-art video and sound system designed by renowned nightclub impresario Maurice Safizadeh (who created Prince and the Revolution hang-out and Sting’s favorite Hollywood hot-spot Spice Lounge).  In addition to its entertainment, Rain features a world class Cuban-inspired tasting menu born from a collaboration between celebrated chefs Raphael Gamon (Cher’s longtime private chef; PrivateChef.com), and Joey Santos (Celebrity Chef and owner of WellDoneCatering.com).

Rain Nightclub (www.facebook.com/rainonventura) is located at 12215 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91604, adjacent to the famed Chin Chin Chinese Restaurant.  Ample parking is provided in the complex.
