Samuel French Bookstore in Studio City to Close

Samuel French, the theater, film and television bookshop in Studio City, will be closing in February, according to their Facebook page.

The closings of bookstores around Los Angeles was the topic of conversation on  KCRW Monday night, also talking about the pending closure of Barnes & Noble at Westside Pavilion. 

The Studio City store is scheduled to close Feb. 20 next year. They still have a store in Hollywood, New York City and London. 

Their announcements is:

On FEBRUARY 20, 2012, our STUDIO CITY Bookshop will JOIN FORCES with our HOLLYWOOD STORE to create an ALL-IN-ONE Sunset Boulevard location where you can CONTINUE to find LA's LARGEST SELECTION OF PLAYS as well as all your theatre, film, and television resource needs.

Just this past weekend, actress and author Julie Adams signed her new memoir The Lucky Southern Star: Reflections from the Black Lagoon at the store.
