Again a wonderful way to end an evening of chaos. For those who think their life is hard, spend anRead More evening with the stories of EM Fredric and you will realize that your life is not that bad. Bravo for another well written piece on the under belly of that fantasyland we call Hollywood. Well off to read another chapter.

“Leave a brother alone…” I’m still laughing at that line. Something aboutRead More the sequence of the banter between these characters is so believable. Unique. It just cracks me up. Very original E.M.F. Weldon is gonna wish Pikey can "leave a brother alone"….Yesiree. BTW, I’m so glad Morty didn’t “cack”. S & M just wouldn’t be the same without him. More please...

E.M. Fredric May 13, 2013 at 03:58 am
H.K., you consistently come up with the most visual of comments and wanted to say that the idea thatRead More sock puppet is just another "attention whore" on the streets of Hollywood made me come back and laugh again! Thank you!

The art of weaving a storyline…. leading the reader through improbable situations, whileRead More still allowing them to suspend their disbelief, is rare skill to have. A skill not wasted by E.M. Fredric. Perhaps in another setting these stories would not be believable, but this is the homeless world. A world that has been seen by all, but opaque to most. I know that what I am reading here is fiction and still I feel that I am getting a sneak peek at a real world, replete with every emotional color of the human rainbow. Spielberg would be proud. Way to knock one outta the park EMF .
E.M. Fredric March 31, 2013 at 11:07 am
Wow, H.K - some Easters are more memorable than others - your words have made this one especiallyRead More so. Don't know if you're a writer but you have a gift with words and I thank you for them.

I love the imagery that EMF can conjure up at the drop of a metaphor. She somehow is able to turnRead More left field into right, like the magical semaphore that she is. Smoke & mirrors…? I think not. After watching the accompanying video interview in Mr. Weldon’s office, Peter’s character is firmly implanted in my mind's eye view of this story. I feel like I know him or perhaps have met him at some point in time. Go ahead Eva-Marie, lead us on.
E.M. Fredric March 25, 2013 at 12:48 am
A magical semaphore - that's got my head spinning. Thank you, H.K.

Ralph Guzzo's performance all together amazing and revealing of the mind of a character who'sRead More reality drifted between days gone by and a concert stage where Jared held court on every musician that ever existed. Ralph brings something of a soul of a lost poet forth in Jared that makes us see him as he chooses; the reckless and gifted rock star the world has yet to be graced with. And Jared enjoys being seen dangerous by his peers, commanding their fear and loyalty with a steely stare. All save Shorty & Morty who dare usurp his reign with their antics. Ralph immersion into Jared shows his skill as an actor are exemplary and why Eva-Marie's words are fluid and full of life coming out of him. Well done sir.
E.M. Fredric February 17, 2013 at 06:33 pm
Thank you for a riveting review of Jared's character. I might add what you left out and that his jobRead More was made easier having you - the 'social worker' - to play off of. Both performances I'm proud of. Thank you, James.
james moorer February 5, 2013 at 08:07 pm
What can i say about Eva-Marie's work that I haven't already stated, it is truly amazing to haveRead More witnessed her creative process in directing her actors to bring out exactly what she's looking for in a scene. But moreso, she brings out in each of us, an awareness about a subject matter no one can say they have ignore in some way or fashion. To her credit, Eva does make you change the way you THINK of the Homeless and the perception they have of their situation is not as bleak as the one we see through a prejudiced lens. It is by their own accord that they maintain or lose their dignity, and thankfully, not by any of our thoughts or feelings about them.
E.M. Fredric February 6, 2013 at 04:23 am
Thank you for the eloquent words and sometimes feel as though I'm the lucky one when hearing musicRead More created and words spoken in a world created by one short story that continues. You are a wonderful talent, James Moorer.
james moorer January 28, 2013 at 05:04 pm
I love that Phil Idrisi gives body and soul to this performance moving easily between the humorousRead More and humane moments in this piece. The subtle nuances captured by Eva Marie Fredric compel us to want to know more about Phil, who feels less like a homeless person and more like that gregarious favorite uncle we don't get to see often enough. And again we find both the brilliance and the blessing found in this piece as we discover these forgotten and often overlooked members of our society as just as real and as painfully fragile as the rest of us.
E.M. Fredric January 28, 2013 at 09:00 pm
You both make a writer feel like she can help create a little magic with these characters. Thank youRead More for trusting me with pieces that don't seem to quite make sense - and then they do.

E.M. Fredric January 10, 2013 at 07:51 pm
Thanks John, I heard from Sharon Shapiro from Tom LaBonge's office this morning who said the sameRead More thing. Happy they're putting new benches in but confused by the need to remove them in the first place. Risky business? Hikers have sat there for years and loved that bench seated in cement - I think stop signs take longer to be errected or replaced. Perhaps the kid in me allows the movie Big to take over from that viewpoint removed. Seems stop signs or signals take years to be considered a risk matter - usually many deaths later. I love priorities.
