It just took me 2 days to find a dress! Since when did a size 12 turn into a size 2x?
Rule number 1- Don't take a friend that is smaller than you shopping for a formal dress, they all look cuter on her.
She took me to this store that sells all of the old clothes from television shows and studios. When you pick what you like there is a sign at the counter that tells you what show or movie your clothes come from. Well my friend got some cute things from 90210 and Baywatch, my one item was on Rosanne. I put it back and went out to eat! That is reason number 2 not to go shopping with a friend.
So after 2 full days of trying on things and getting sales peoples comments, I ended up buying on the internet. Shopping sure has changed, you just enter your measurements and they send you your size, so less humiliating...
I received the one I ordered today and it did fit, but it does not look like the same one I ordered. I think its cause the model had brown hair, yeah, thats it!
That coming from my 12 year old son who had to zip me. He helps me pick things when the model has similar hair, If it was only that easy. Either he will be attracted to crazy women or he will be in therapy. Probably the latter coming from Los Angeles.
He did go with me to a couple of stores, and is a very good shopper, but turned down the "Flapper 1920's " idea from one sales associate. He asked if it was a costume party, so I listened.
Rule number 3- Don't take your child shopping with you cause you will end up buying them something. Yes, he got basketball sneakers, mens size 13! He even said, " Mom one more size up and I think I will be able to sleep standing up, I'm sure of it.
He is very funny, so I decided to learn from him and laugh at life. I agreed with him and said," "one more size up and I'll be shopping with the big girls honey"!
Rule number 4, LAUGH!!!
