Join the Walter Reed Middle School community on Feb. 27, 28, and March 1, 8, and 9 for their spring musical theater production of “Guys and Dolls, Jr.!”
Based on the stories of Damon Runyon, this Frank Loesser Broadway classic introduces us to a cast of colorful characters who have become musical theater legends: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, a nightclub performer whose chronic flu is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for is infamous floating dice game.
An impressive all student cast of actors, singers, and dancers will be accompanied by a full Pit Orchestra consisting entirely of Walter Reed student musicians. With show tune favorites like “A Bushel and a Peck,” and “Luck Be A Lady,” this snazzy, jazzy, fun-filled production will entertain the whole family!
“By attending this musical theater event, audiences will be supporting not just their local public middle school, but children’s musical theater and the arts at large.” – Donna Tobin, Principal
Guys and Dolls, Jr. is produced and directed by Walter Reed’s Award Winning Music Department chair, Stephen McDonough, along with Janice Kueppers, Jessica O’Rourke and the PTSA.
