Still Time to Enroll Your Child in Stage Right Productions Summer Musical Theater Camp

A Two Week Musical Theater camp for ages 9-17 July 16th-27th with Broadway Pro's Arminae Reames and Scott Harlan culminating in a production of "Hairspray"

Want to be one of the “Nicest kids in town” in Hairspray this summer? Then come be a part of Studio City’s best kept secret. Stage Right Productions summer musical theater camp and workshop at the beautiful new NoHo Pac Performing Arts Center in NoHo. From July 16-27 Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. -3:30 pm.

I chose the NoHo Pac Theater after a friend showed me the space. It is unique in the sense that it has a rehearsal space and performance space under one roof and a great group of people who were excited to house their first summer musical theater camp for kids as much as I was. It has been a dream of mine always to offer a look into the professional world of musical theater for kids on every skill level in singing, acting and dance. I first started my program back in 2009 when I took over the after school drama enrichment program at Carpenter Avenue Elementary School where my daughter was attending before she moved to SOCES in Tarzana.

The program was an instant success and since then has had up to 65 children in a production. Children received instruction in dance, acting and singing and were instantly elevated to a new performance level not only in the performing arts but in their daily activities and academic performance as well. I don’t think parents ever imagined how far their children could go when they took on the task and discipline of auditioning for a role they wanted but also the joy and great sense of accomplishment they would experience from creating a role such as Willy Wonka or the cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz.

Or from learning complex choreography from shows like Cats, and A chorus Line. Everyone had a blast and always wanted to know what the next show was before the current one was even over. Since Carpenter I have expanded my after school program and partner with the very funny Mr. Billy Riback. Executive producer and writer for such blockbuster hit network Television shows such as Home Improvement, Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Suite Life of Zach and Cody on Deck, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and more. Our last six week children’s acting intensive featured eleven students between the ages of nine and fourteen that we showcased in front of about fifteen prominent agents in the business. Nine of the eleven students were called in for representation. It was a thrill for them and us!

This year when I wanted to launch my first summer musical theater camp and wondered how I would raise the funds, my Broadway friends, former and present suggested I start a Kickstarter campaign. Not only did I reach my goal but I exceeded it which is a good thing because renting space in town is very expensive. There are so many costs that go into putting on a show that people are not aware of. You want the best team possible and want the kids to get the best possible training especially when they are just starting out. I had an outpour of support from friends from Broadway, actors, writers, directors from Csi, Two and Half Men, Ncis , Disney, Seinfeld , Kiis Fm with Ryan Seacrest , KTLA and Stage Right families I had met from my Carpenter days.

They believed in this project as well as in supporting our youth in the performing arts and me. The best compliment anyone could ever ask for.

It is because of them that I am able to do this. Want to join a winning team and learn from the best? Then look no further. Read what some of our fans have said about Stage Right!

I seriously can't thank you enough for the time, patience, and energy you put in to make all those kids (and us gushing parents) have an evening we'll never forget! thank you especially for the encouragement you gave  my daughter. Xoxo

-S.M, Stage Right Parent

The show was truly amazing work for a group of 8-10 year olds!  We can barely get our son to listen to us, let alone get a giant group of children working together so well! How you managed to do it is remarkable - and we are very grateful you were willing to take this on.

-Nancy & Mark, Stage Right Parents

“Everyone was so great and it's all thanks to you and all your hard work. I love you Arminae, you have taught (my son) to love the art of drama and he and I will always be thankful to you for that. If (my son) was great then you are equally as great because he has learned everything from you!

Born of the 4th of July and Johnny Got His Gun are definitely not movies honoring our veterans.

I wish the media had countered Garcetti's claims with an examination of the facts and had exposedRead More his relationship with BIG development. Only the LA Weekly covered these stories--keep reading it and keep posting.

Oh, it was under announcements and not opinion so that is why I did not understand the post whichRead More appeared as facts.

Presumptuous? What about my "endorsement" is presumptuous. You don't really need toRead More respond😃, I just didn't understand the comment.

I attended N.H.H.S. in the mid-seventies. Mr. Reeves and Mr. Moelter were two of my favorites.Read More Loved Mr. McLeroy for Sociology.

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.

I also notice Wendy Gruel has no platform, except taking money from special interest (most notablyRead More her puppet masters at the DWP) and having one of the most negative campaigns I've ever seen......no thanks, negative Wendy, fool me once.....Eric is our next Mayor....
