Give a Sad Story a Happy Ending
Meegan King tells about two rescues, his step dog in Studio City, Sadie, and his friend's rescue, Bigsby The Barkless Beagle.
Today's video features local boy, Meegan King, sharing about two dog rescues which gave happy endings to sad stories. The first dog, Sadie, is one he shares with a former girlfriend. They have an actual custody arrangement, which Meegan cherishes.
Sadie was rescued from a cat rescue shelter, and Meegan calls her "a cat who barks." She suffered Parvo, which causes terrible diarrhea and vomiting, like dysentary. The dogs expire from exhaustion, dehydration, and collapsed organs. Those who survive sometimes suffer side-effects.
(Two of my own dogs suffered the parvovirus, in the late '80s, and one died from side effects: severe Nightmare on Elm Street epilepsy in one, after four or five years of surviving the virus. The other sibling died during infection from the parvovirus, ending his life after months of agonizing withering and extreme internal plumbing disasters.)

Sadie was sent away by her former owners, survived the virus, warped from her adventures, now loved by Meegan and his ex.
The second dog, Bigsby The Barkless Beagle, is his friend's rescue dog. Bigsby was de-barked in its former life as a laboratory victim of experiments. It now resides with a loving owner who has restores Bigsby's wagging tail and beagle grin.
