Hotel Management to Clear out Homeless Encampments Under Parking Lot

The Sportsmen's Lodge has been attracting a few guests who don't have reservations.

The homeless have set up camp under the Sportsmen's Lodge parking lot, and Studio City resident Peter Cole has called upon the hotel management to do something about it.

Management has vowed to get right on it.

"Over the weekend I noticed in addition to the other 'tenants' there is also a minor living under your parking lot. It’s as if they you gave them permission to live down there as they are not trying to hide," Cole wrote to the Sportsmen's Lodge, CC-ing Patch.

Cole also complained that the partying got loud this weekend, with yelling and possible drug use.

Richard Weintraub, president of Weintraub Real Estate Group, which owns the hotel at 12825 Ventura Blvd, said he will clear it out right away and erect a fence to prevent further intrusions.
