Jewish Congregations and Universalist Church Grow Together in Studio City

The gardens at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City helps feed the hungry

There's a unique program at a 700-square-foot garden on the grounds of the Unitarian Universalist Church that helps grow fruits and vegetables for the homeless and hungry in the San Fernando Valley.

Since this spring, volunteers from the church have linked up with Congregation Beth Ohr and Congregation Tikkun Olam in what they call the Shared Earth Project, an organic patch of vegetables and fruit trees they committed to maintain together.

They have reaped about 50 pounds of food so far!
