Miracle at the Bowling Alley—Double Sour Apples!

A Sour Apple is not something that a bowler wants.

It's when the front pin and the two back end pins, the 1, 7 and 10 pins (for you bowlers out there) are left standing. That's every corner of the triangle left standing.

"It's almost impossible to get a spare on a Sour Apple," said longtime bowling expert Barbara Lee, who coaches the youth bowling league at PINZ Bowling in Studio City. (For you non-bowlers, a spare means getting the rest of the three pins down after hitting a Sour Apple on your first ball.)

So, when Youth League PINZ bowler Carlos Cisneros landed a Sour Apple, people were stunned, and started taking pictures of it. Then, in the lane right next to Carlos, Ethan Wiltz hit a Sour Apple!

"This is going up on the board," said Lee, who usually puts a photograph of anyone getting a perfect 300 game up on the screens above the lanes which alternate with Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus videos (who all frequent the lanes regularly).

So, if you visit PINZ, you'll see more pictures of the rare Double Sour Apple!

Also, it's not too late to sign up for the Summer Bowling leagues at PINZ, and there are plenty, for all ages—ladies, seniors, adult-kids and more, nighttime, daytime and weekends: http://pinzbowlingcenter.com/leagues.html
