Mitzvah Day Brings Out Hundreds to Work for Charities
Members of Adat Ari El and Temple Beth Hillel donate their time to collect for causes and make gifts for the needy
Synagogues and Jewish schools across the valley, with help from The Valley Alliance of the Jewish Federation, held their annual day of community service Sunday.
In Studio City and North Hollywood, Temple Beth Hillel and Adat Ari El each provided congregants with dozens of ways to donate goods and services to local and international charities.
Ruth Devine, who produced the event for Adat Ari El, says most of the organizations served today are located within a five-mile radius of the synagogue. She hopes today's activities will inspire people to give back all year long.
