Photos: What's This L.A. River Area Flora?

A glimpse of life around Studio City.

Do you like to take pictures? Have you recently captured a shot of something neat in town?

I've been walking the streets of Studio City to get a better visual on the things that stand out to me, not just including the typical L.A. traffic along Ventura Boulevard and other main thoroughfares.

I've been particularly interested on local infrastructure and beautification projects, and the Los Angeles River is especially interesting. Not so far from the Valleyheart Riverwalk Greenway near Ventura and Coldwater Canyon are some beautiful visuals of both transitioning urban and urban recreation.

I saw what reminded me of the beautiful purple-blue hue variation from the city's jacaranda trees near the bridge spanning the river on Coldwater Canyon Boulevard.

If it is, in fact, jacaranda, what species is this compared to the commonplace jacaranda tree around L.A.?
