Box Office Report: 'Brave' Hunts Down 'Madagascar' and 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'
The animated Pixar/Disney release opened at $66.7 million.
"Brave" is on track to open in the number one position at the North American box office derby, with an estimated $66.7 million gate.
The Pixar/Disney release with a female hero aced out another cartoon. "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" is having a $20 million weekend in its fourth week of exhibition, according to studio estimates gathered by Hollywood.com.
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" opened in third, with a $16.5 million haul. And Prometheus" is in fourth, with a $10 million projection.

Another animated feature, "Snow White and The Huntsmen," was in fifth place, with an $8 million estimated weekend.
Rounding out the 10 most-popular films this weekend in the United States and Canada, as estimated by the studiuos and gathered by Hollywood.com, are "Rock of Ages" ($8 million), "That's My Boy" ($7.9 million), "The Avengers" ($7 million), "Men In Black 3-D" ($5.6 million) and "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World" (debuting in limited release at $3.8 million).
