Did you catch "Psych: The Musical" when it aired the two-hour episode on the USA Network Sunday?

Studio City-based actress Kirsten Nelson said the episode is a high mark for a special group working on the show, now entering its eighth season on Jan. 8, reports the Chicago Tribune

Nelson plays Santa Barbara Police Chief Karen Vick on the show and said she began singing and dancing at 5 years old while growing up on the North Side of the Chicago.

Nelson admits that acting is still her true passion, and it shows, but adds that she's capable of directing and, if you want to have longevity in the business, must be willing to change it up with your other talents.

Nelson also credits the energy of the "Psych" cast working on the musical and calls the relationship with her crew, from the first day, something extraordinary, which has propelled the show to great heights and is still one of the top five original series.
