Roy Rogers Honored in the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade®

The King of the Cowboys has 5 Tiles in the Studio City Walk of Fame

On Monday, Jan. 2, RFD-TV is honoring the “King of the Cowboys” with a spectacular 75-foot float titled “Happy Trails” in the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade® in celebration of what would have been Roy Rogers’ 100th birthday. The real Trigger and Bullet, Roy’s faithful companions, will actually be on the float underneath the Roy Rogers Riders Club arch-gate.

Visit Trigger and Bullet before or after the parade and get your free photo taken with Roys' favorite companions, donations are accepted with all proceeds going to horse sanctuaries and dog shelters across the country. By making a donation you will receive a free commemorative Trigger and Bullet Rose Parade lapel pin.

In addition, 100 Golden Palominos with riders will symbolically lead the RFD-TV float down the Pasadena parade route, with Roy’s son Dusty and grandson and Dustin Rogers, singing “Happy Trails” to the millions of people gathered around the world for this New Year’s tradition.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Float Description:
“Happy Trails” honors the “King of the Cowboys” in spectacular fashion. Focused around a 35-foot tall classic image of the singing cowboy, Roy’s name is inscribed across a lucky silver horseshoe mirrored by pearl handled dual six-shooters flanked by American flags. The entrance to the Rogers floral ranch is guarded by Trigger, the Golden Palomino, and Bullet, the Wonder Dog. With permission from the Tournament of Roses Parade, the faithful duo are the actual preserved remains, and not organically decorated duplicates.  Floragraphs feature classic scenes of Roy and his dedicated companions.

Trigger & Bullet Rescue Pet Adoption Program
RFD-TV launched the Trigger & Bullet Rescue, a pet adoption program, inspired by Trigger and Bullet. You can take part by adopting a horse or dog and naming them “Trigger” or “Bullet”. Then send RFD-TV a copy of the adoption papers and a photo to receive a commemorative Trigger & Bullet pin and free membership to the Roy Rogers Riders Club!

Approximately 5 to 7 million companion animals (dogs, cats & horses) enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Roy Rogers, along with Trigger and Bullet, fought injustice, now it’s your chance to fight for abandoned animals, in their honor.

I wish the media had countered Garcetti's claims with an examination of the facts and had exposedRead More his relationship with BIG development. Only the LA Weekly covered these stories--keep reading it and keep posting.

Oh, it was under announcements and not opinion so that is why I did not understand the post whichRead More appeared as facts.
John Walker May 21, 2013 at 05:14 pm
Presumptuous? What about my "endorsement" is presumptuous. You don't really need toRead More respond😃, I just didn't understand the comment.

I attended N.H.H.S. in the mid-seventies. Mr. Reeves and Mr. Moelter were two of my favorites.Read More Loved Mr. McLeroy for Sociology.

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.

I also notice Wendy Gruel has no platform, except taking money from special interest (most notablyRead More her puppet masters at the DWP) and having one of the most negative campaigns I've ever seen......no thanks, negative Wendy, fool me once.....Eric is our next Mayor....
Jo Perry May 20, 2013 at 08:27 pm
The signs are everywhere! Please vote for Wendy, Nora. He is also running ads about Wendy GreuelRead More that he knows are outright lies.
