Academy award nominated actress Sally Kirkland spoke to Patch from her hospital bed on Tuesday afternoon after undergoing surgery on a broken ankle. She fell after accepting an award at the Studio City Film Festival.
She wanted to specifically thank people who sent her flowers and sent their well wishes through Facebook and comments on Patch.
It is unclear how long she will be hospitalized, and she wasn't able to do any physical therapy on Tuesday.
Studio City Film Festival co-director Steve Sturla and Studio City-based producer David Bertolino both visited Kirkland recently.
