See Your Neighbors at the Emmys—A Few of Them Are Winners

Some of the Studio City residents look fabulous at the Emmy Awards.

Cat Deeley, Zooey Deschanel, Julie Bowen, Nicole Kidman and many other Studio City residents are at the Emmys.

They look marvelous. We'll bring you more pictures.

Colfax Meadows resident, actor Jon Cryer was shocked as he won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award for Two and a Half Men  which Studio City Mom writer Susan McMartin writes for as well.

Here are local winners—congrats:

—  "Modern Family" (with a lot of locals in cast and crew) won Best Comedy Series.

— "Amazing Race" filmed at CBS Radford Studios won Best Reality-Competition

— Supporting Actress, Comedy Series: Julie Bowen, “Modern Family,” ABC.

— Actor, Comedy Series: Jon Cryer, “Two and a Half Men,” CBS.

It was nice to see former residents like Michael J. Fox, Rita Wilson and others on the red carpet.

Backstage, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Bowen talked about her second consecutive win in the category. She said she would put this one high up where her son can't reach it—he broke her first one in their Studio City house. Also, she said she was sad that co-star Sofia Vergara hasn't won.

"She doesn't get the credit she deserves as an actress," Bowen said. "She is talented and amazing, and there are only a few of us that realize that she just doesn't play herself. .... She deserves one of these [Emmys] too."

Cryer talked about fellow Studio City resident Miley Cyrus coming on the show.

"They gave her pagelong monologues, and all week she was on book with them. … Then we did in front of audience and Miley brought it. … Then I remembered she was hatched in Disney labs in Burbank and grown for just this sitcom situation."

Cryer was nominated seven times  and won once in the supporting category, and this was the first time he was submitted in the category, after years of Charlie Sheen dominating the category.

"I'm as shocked as you people, that's all I'm going to say," Cryer told reporters backstage Sunday before the questions even began. "That's why my speech sucked!"

I'm with you, Helen. I have no interest whatsoever in celebrities or awards shows. Yawn.

How nice is it is that Patch treats these people like the "neighbors" that they are. Yes, I'm "neighbors" with two of the ladies in the photos. I know where they live, I see one of them at Ralphs all the time. They don't know me, but yeah, I secretly cheer for them because they ARE from my neighborood. It's Studio City's version of a sports team. Thank you for recognizing that.

Wasn't Julie Bowen just STUNNING in yellow, by the way?

Oh, Helen.....This opinion of yours is so old and always crops up in the "letters" column when there has been an article about rich people enjoying themselves in one way or another. Does EVERYONE have to go around in sack cloth and ashes because some people are having a rough time? If people enjoy seeing this performer or that, or enjoy awards shows or seeing people dressed nicely. So what. I have a message for people who think like you and like our beloved President: LIFE IS NOT FAIR. Some will be more blessed than others with intelligence, looks, money, etc., etc. If all the money in the country were "redistributed" equally, in less than a decade, it would all be back like it was before. And how do you know whether or not which celebrities or other rich people, give to help others? You don't. In the interest of full disclosure, I don't care about celebrities or awards shows.....except the Oscars, and I am certainly disgusted by what passes for celebrity these days; (read Kardashians, Hilton and that trash) but I do understand why most people like to see people living well, dressing well; or trying to do so. Don't ridicule people for their escapism and/or enjoyment in paying attention to these shows. And in rough times or occasions of great disasters, that's when it's even more important that people who can, dress up and have these albeit "frivolous" events for people to enjoy. Life is to be lived in color; not black and white.
