The Frame of the Begley House Goes Up [Photos & Video]

See exclusive photos of the house construction.

This week the cranes were erecting the frames of the LEED platinum environmentally sound house that Ed Begley Jr. and his wife Rachelle Carson are building in Studio City.

This is close to the Los Angeles River, and not far from their retro-fitted solar-powered house that Ed has lived in for a few decades.

Photographer Peter Bennett took the photos this week and shared them with Studio City Patch.

Actor Raphael Sbarge of Once Upon a Time and good friend of the Begley's is recording the progress of the house for a series called On Begley Street.

Begley is a noted actor and environmentalist and he and Rachelle spent the week overseeing the steel framing for their green house that they are attempting to build under LEED Platinum Certified standards.

Their web series "On Begley Street” is a Web series that explores the building of North America’s greenest, most sustainable home. This will be one of only 13 residential homes built in California using steel, a sustainable material that is 95 percent recyclable.

Also around town this weekend are two public events:

I attended N.H.H.S. in the mid-seventies. Mr. Reeves and Mr. Moelter were two of my favorites.Read More Loved Mr. McLeroy for Sociology.

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.
