From historian Marc Wanamaker:
Mascot updated the characters in the Alexandre Dumas classic, "Les Trois Mousquetaires" and publicized it with the tagline: A story of the modern escapades of the most famous adventurers in all fiction!!!
Wayne played Tom Wayne, a D'Artagnan-like American pilot, who along with three Musketeer-like legionnaires (Hatton, Mulhall and Bushman), defend the French Foreign Legion against an Arab uprising.
The story was set in North Africa, with Yuma, Arizona standing in for the location shooting with temperatures approaching 120 degrees. The large cast of villains was played by veteran Western actors costumed in bed sheets.
