Theater Guide: 'The Fantasticks,' 'I, Caligula,' "Murder Abbey' and More

A vast variety of theater arts is coming to town.

The Fantasticks, one of the American musical theater’s most enduringly popular musicals is coming to Theatre West. It ran off-Broadway for 46 straight years, 1960-2002, then re-opened in 2006 and is still running in New York today. It’s a simple story, to be sure, but one that has resonated with audiences for half a century, with classic songs like “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.”

This is the new production from Chestnuts, the wing of Theatre West dedicated to revivals of great plays under Chestnuts Producing Director Charlie Mount. The cast includes Lukas Bailey, Molly Reynolds, Joey Jennings, Roger Kent Cruz, Steve Nevil, Don Moss, Yancey Dunham (except Sept. 7-9), Lee Meriwether (except Sept. 7-9), Maria Kress (on Sept 7- 9) and Charlie Mount (on Sept. 7-9).
