Will You Be There?

The holidays are here, the holidays are here! Have you heard the news? It’s kind of hard to miss, isn’t it? It seems like every year December comes along and in the blink of an eye, it’s almost over, and I haven’t been able to accomplish anything. This year, with the release of my first novel, “Searching for My Wand”, you would think the same will happen again, just due to all of the promoting that is required with such an event.

It is true that I am doing my best to get the word out 24/7; however, I am determined not to miss this holiday season entirely. I will force myself to put down this laptop to watch the occasional Christmas movie or special with my daughters. After all, what are the holidays without the Grinch? And I will bake some cookies, as I did just yesterday. I will force myself out into the stores, although I will avoid them on the weekends like the plague! In my book there is nothing worse than Costco or Target on a Saturday, and during the holidays, forget about it!

I also vow to buy a Christmas tree this year, and not to publicly choke on the price as I do so. This will be hard, but as someone who remembers my own mother’s grumbling each year, I will do my best to spare my daughters the humiliation. Lastly, I will attend the Winter Family Festival at Beeman Park this Sunday. Will you? If so be sure to stop by for your free photo with Santa.
