The temperature is rising, summer is just around the corner and one prime concern that is on everyone’s mind is bathing suit season. For many people, looking good, feeling good, eating right and staying fit are top priorities during this time of year.
One personal training facility,r is a training studio that puts the client as their top priority in achieving fitness goals unique to each individual as revealed in their slogan: One Client. One Trainer. One Goal.
Fitness Together is a national personal training franchise that started in 1996 and is comprised of over 400 training studios. They opened its’ doors in Studio City in 2010.
Lou Silvers, the accountant and his son, Jarrod Silvers, a certified personal trainer and manager of the studio, own the Studio City location. Lou explained that five years ago, Jarrod was a professional drag racer and after he stopped racing.
“He was fat, well not fat, but was about 30 pounds heavier than he is now and decided to get in shape," he sad. Jarrod began working out and exercising and became very passionate about personal training.
This led to Jarrod getting certified by the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association. Originally he intended to be a personal trainer for the masses but at the same time, Lou had heard about the concept of Fitness Together, which sounded like a great idea. Lou and Jarrod then went into business together. Trying to determine a good location in a higher income area with the right demographic led them to choosing the location along Ventura Blvd. in Studio City.
The Studio City facility is unlike a standard gym. Lou describes one of the most important aspects of Fitness Together that makes them special and different from other gyms.
“We are the largest personal training franchise in the country and because they’re so big and there is so much of a knowledge base, we are the best of the best," Lou said. "Fitness Together provides one-on-one personal training in a fully equipped training studio where each client receives a fitness program tailored to their specific needs and goals."
There are three private rooms in the studio and each room has the same equipment, allowing people to train in a private environment instead of being in an overcrowded gym, where time is sometimes wasted waiting for certain equipment or machines.
Most people are in and out of the studio in less than an hour. Towels, water and even healthy snacks are provided to their clients, along with free valet parking, one perk that’s hard to pass up in LA.
All ages come to train here, ranging from 17 to 70 with the typical age range falling between 35 and 56 years old. Clients come from Studio City, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood and even over the hill in Beverly Hills.
