Fee Hikes Coming for Hollywood Bowl Park-and-Ride Shuttle

Nearly a third of Hollywood Bowl patrons use the bus service, which has been running for 40 years.

Advance tickets for the Hollywood Bowl's park-and- ride shuttle will rise to $6 this year and to $7 next year, while the cash fare will remain $10, under increases approved Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.   

Cash fares will rise to $12 in 2015. The fare increase for advance tickets is the first since 1995.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic is adding three more concerts to its schedule at the iconic amphitheater this season. The cost hike is intended to cover the expense of leasing buses for those extra shows, according to the Department of Public Works.

The county will pay about $600,000 of the shuttle's total $2.8 million cost for the 2014 season, according to board documents.
