Gas Price Falls for 21st Straight Day

Cheapest price locally is $3.73 a gallon.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell Sunday for the 21st consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to $3.845.

The average price is 6.1 cents less than one week ago and 5.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 88 cents higher than at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.  

The average price has dropped 12.3 cents over the past 21 days, including 1.1 cents on Saturday.

The cheapest gas in the state is in Vallejo, at $3.49 a gallon, and the most expensive is in Bolinas, West Covina and Needles, at $4.96 a gallon.

On a national level, the price is $3.50 a gallon, which is down 9 cents from a week ago, and 81 cents higher than a year ago.
