Is South Pas a Good Spot for Dunkin' Donuts?

The company stated in a press release that it is looking at opening shops in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura and Orange counties.

South Pasadena already has a Winchell's; but could Dunkin' Donuts, arguably its corporate nemesis, join the mix?

Dunkin' Donuts, announced recently on PR Newswire that it is expanding to Southern California with a long-term goal of having more than 15,000 Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the United States.

"Specifically, the company is recruiting multi-unit franchisees for Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura and Orange counties and expects restaurants in these markets will begin to open in 2015. The company is also interested in identifying qualified food service operators for a wide range of non-traditional venues including colleges and universities, casinos, military bases, supermarkets, airports and travel centers," stated the release.

Chief Executive Officer, Dunkin' Brands and President, Dunkin' Donuts U.S. Nigel Travis said, "Expansion to California has always been part of our plan to grow Dunkin' Donuts' presence in the U.S."

It will NOT work because South Pasadena residents are into healthy eating and exercising.

DD wOuld be a great addition to the ostrich park area. Other ideas for that same area would be a local tavern for a game of pool, have beer and watch a game and then adding a planet fitness could round it out to make for the perfect 3some. Morning, noon and night would be covered for all of us who live on the forgotten side of town (the other side of the tracks). The heavy commuter traffic would help ensure the big bucks for any developer who wants to steal my great ideas.
