Lasky Pediatric Dental Opens in Studio City

The Lasky Pediatric Dental Group, a fixture in the San Fernando Valley almost 50 years in Tarzana, opened its second location in Studio City in January at 12930 Ventura Blvd., Suite 226C. An open house was held in December 2013 to get acquainted with the community.

Founded by Dr. Martin Lasky, who retired in 2013, the business is now run by his son, Dr. Michael Lasky and his wife, Dr. Jill Lasky and Dr. Lecia Harmer. Together they have more than 30 years of pediatric dental experience, especially with children who have special needs. In addition to their dental practice, they are fixtures in the San Fernando community and support many local charities.

"We just finished the final touches on the Studio City office and we are ready," Dr. Jill Lasky told Patch in an email Monday. "We have been welcomed with open arms into our new neighborhood. Many local pediatricians, nursery school directors, orthodontist and kids' service businesses have expressed their excitment about having our dental office in their community."

Lasky said many of their dental team members have worked together at the Tarzana office for more than 15 years so it was no surprise that on Saturday Jan. 4, their last day as one office dental practice, tears were shed.

"It will be different not all working together on a regular basis but we have already planned our first entire team dinner in a few weeks at Casa Vega," she added.

Lasky said their Studio City office is truly like no other pediatric dental practice.

"It looks like a house that happens to have dental chairs in it," she said. "We purposely designed it that way to reflect our mission statement, "to treat our patients and their parents as a part of our extended family." No televisions or video games in our office. We feel it is most important to connect with the children so they feel safe and secure."

Lasky Pediatric Dental Group has an open door policy and parents are always welcome to accompany their child during any dental visit and Jill noted they frequently perform treatment while the child sits on their parents lap.
