People Pour Out in the Early Morning at Du-Par's

Wendy Greuel serves, Natascha Corrigan sings and more.

Watch the video as Du-par's owner Biff Naylor gets a bathing suit from a local businessman Jim Herrick and hear people reminisce about the longtime restaurant.

Herrick, who owns a swim school, quipped about how he came to Du-par's in the old days to sober up before he went home.

All morning, a short stack of buttermilk pancakes were selling for 40 cents—the original cost when its doors opened in 1948.

See Studio City resident and Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel help serve guests and the Colfax Charter summer school students sing "Yes, We Have No Bananas."

Longtime customers Kassandra Carroll and Donna Cardin came dressed for the part in vintage clothing, and Natascha Corrigan wrote a song.
