plays the fool opposite on (and previously to Sherman Oaks resident , but he’s no fool in real life. The comic actor bought a beautiful home in the Colfax Meadows area of the Studio City flats that’s 7,000 square feet. He walks his two small dog—pretty much unnoticed (except the shots we have above)—in the neighborhood and is having some work done on it. Cryer, his wife Lisa Joyner and their daughter Daisy were all at the recently having breakfast and stocking up on fresh vegetables. . . .

, the Oscar winner for The Blind Side, and recently in the Guinness Book of Records as the most-paid actress of all time, is looking local for a pre-school for her adopted son: Louis Bardo Bullock. The school begged us not to name it (but it’s listed in our Studio City Patch listings), but the actress checked out the school on Friday before Thanksgiving holidays started (see photo in the gallery above). . . .

loves to shop and hang around Studio City, but she’s having more and more trouble (like everyone else) finding a parking spot. See photos above of her trying to navigate the parking meter while photographers are taking her picture. Loveand lived for a time at the Oakwood Apartments on Barham. . . .

What did some of the stars do locally after their Thanksgiving feast?

•  and his daughter helped and Los Angeles  Mayor at the Midnight Mission on Thanksgiving Day. Ed sent out Twitter photos about it, and the next day encouraged people to go to his favorite small business.

  • —who is still split from her Disney beau who lives nearby—was out with friends the whole day ony along the shops on Ventura Boulevard, forget the malls. She wasn’t with her new boyfriend either, (maybe she’s shopping for him). Most of their shopping stash came from Wasteland. Vanessa also went out Saturday for a new exercise routine at her favorite workout place along Ventura Boulevard. (See photos in the gallery above.)
  • Singer/actress Aubrey O'Day (who is newly red-headed) and Trevor, a TMZ cameraman (see photos in the gallery) were seen together having lunch at in Studio City with her dog.
  • On the Tuesday before Turkey Day, was out running errands and lunching in Studio City. She just got back from Australia where she’s filming The Great Gatsby with and Tobey Maguire. (See photos of her in the polka dotted Madewell sweater in the photo gallery above.)
  • A new early Christmas bundle of love came to one local actress and model (and no, it wasn’t a ).  and her husband Josh Kelley stop by the Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group to pick up one of the the two new Shepherd mix puppies the couple recently adopted from Coastal German Shepherd Rescue. Heigl is shown in the photo gallery carrying her new puppy to the car.
  • Funny guyfilled up his car with groceries after shopping at .
  • Down the block, former Saturday Night Live star Garrett Morris was buying a bag of groceries at.
  • Local boytook his local resident gal pal to Texas to celebrate Turkey Day. Then, they went to see Studio City neighbor star in a hot sex scene with in as part of the Twilight series. Justin also took a recent stop to the top of the Empire State Building on Nov. 18  (see his smiling face in the photo gallery). . . .

Studio City’s is all around the world signing his new book "Shatner Rules: Your Key to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large"—see some of the photos above of him signing fan stuff—and like Justin Bieber is a native of Canada where they celebrate Thanksgiving in October.  Shatner made some fun news by filming a warning about frying your own turkey (and saying he’s burned himself and almost burned his house down, which made some of his hills neighbors nervous!) Then, he got in a verbal sparring match with Carrie Fisher by saying Star Trek is better than Star Wars. See clips above of Shatner on CNN by clicking here. . . .

Hills actress  has had a very public on-again off-again relationship with her BMX biker boyfriend Corey Bohan. But, they seemed to be very happy and going strong after a night of bowling at recently. (See a picture of the couple above.) Audrina turned heads and set fans all a-Twitter when she work a very low-cut dress (described by some as “dangerously low-cut”) at the recent American Music Awards, held at Nokia Theatre. There wer no reported wardrobe malfunctions.

How very exciting. Monty Python great Eric Idle and composer John Du Prez were at this week recording together again. (See photo in the gallery) The duo wrote the score for Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life and A Fish Called Wanda as well as the stage musical Spamalot.

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something
Barbara Krause May 21, 2013 at 07:58 pm
Oh, it was under announcements and not opinion so that is why I did not understand the post whichRead More appeared as facts.
John Walker May 21, 2013 at 05:14 pm
Presumptuous? What about my "endorsement" is presumptuous. You don't really need toRead More respond😃, I just didn't understand the comment.
Barbara Krause May 21, 2013 at 09:06 am
Somewhat presumptuous this early on Voting Day.

I attended N.H.H.S. in the mid-seventies. Mr. Reeves and Mr. Moelter were two of my favorites.Read More Loved Mr. McLeroy for Sociology.

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.

glad you lost Wendy...not even your mafia DWP bedfellows could push you through..now go away...
Alex Daniels May 21, 2013 at 09:05 pm
I also notice Wendy Gruel has no platform, except taking money from special interest (most notablyRead More her puppet masters at the DWP) and having one of the most negative campaigns I've ever seen......no thanks, negative Wendy, fool me once.....Eric is our next Mayor....
Jo Perry May 20, 2013 at 08:27 pm
The signs are everywhere! Please vote for Wendy, Nora. He is also running ads about Wendy GreuelRead More that he knows are outright lies.

She has received a lot of flak about making a premature decision...I hope someone from OvarianRead More Cancer or the community weighs in on this and gives their thoughts in a blog! Thanks...just click the START BLOGGING button below! THANKS!
Mike Szymanski (Editor) May 17, 2013 at 09:34 am
It's better if you put this in the START A BLOG area and add photos...it stays there longer!

ok. have now spent some time navigating the new patch. i hope everyone will give it a chance. it'sRead More growing on me. i think once everyone is more familiar with the new version they'll like it too.
Irene DeBlasio May 17, 2013 at 04:09 pm
@MikeSzymanski I must admit that I haven't been able to detect a new format. Where is the format?Read More Who designed this? All I can tell is that there is a beautiful shot of trees -- perfect! Under that banner all hell breaks lose and you can't tell what you're looking it. There might be a huge blowup of Mr. Walker or a too big notice of something official-looking -- possibly an agenda. I have not been able to navigate through all the stuff. Lots of white space on either side which gives me impression that we're tailoring a community paper more toward an iphone or smart phone (or a tablet). Maybe I need a GPS to find a good list of contents here. In the meantime, it's not very attractive (exception for the banner trees photo) nor entertaining and not very informative. Scotty Reston, where are you now that we need you?

the picture selected is nice and it well suits the page. it would be nice to see the full pic. tooRead More bad so much of it is blocked from the top portion of the content....any chance of seeing the full picture and starting the content beneath it?
Barbara Krause May 17, 2013 at 08:00 am
I find this very disconcerting. Mel Randall who is on the Land Use Committee was asked to submit hisRead More name. We assumed qualifications would be checked and then those best suited would be chosen. Two entries of the same name is in itself so bad makes me feel that all of this should be redone.

I was at the meeting last night and saw all I need to see on how our neighborhood council work. TheyRead More had a drawing for the grievance panel. WHAT A SHAM!! They drew 1 guys name twice and rather than stop the proceedings and make sure that the names in the hat were legitimate and no other duplicates exist and redo the drawing, they just drew another name. Now it probably was just a fluke but the appearance of a rigged drawing is there and it taints the whole council and it proceedings. It is very apparent why we need a grievance panel in the first place. When the appearance of corruption exists at the lowest levels of our democratic process it is no wonder that the whole system is collapsing before our eyes. Our neighborhood council should hang their heads in shame!
