Studio City Among Biggest Job Growth Communities
Studio City-North Hollywood area sees 6.5 percent increase in new jobs.
Los Angeles Council District No. 2, which includes Studio City and North Hollywood, saw some of the biggest job growth in the city last year, the San Fernando Valley Business Journal reports.
The area saw a 6.5 percent increase in new jobs, some of which could be attributed to more construction activity and the issuance of building permits for multifamily residences.
“This is very much a good news/bad news report,” said economist Christopher Thornberg of Beacon Economics, which discovered the numbers in a recent study. “Overall, the city economy is improving, but the growth is very uneven and has not spread to all parts of the city.”
