Studio City Egg Donor Company Featured on 'TODAY'
Founder Shellie Smith is successfully recruiting women to sell their eggs and is on a mission to match prospective parents with the right donors.
One woman is on a mission at her Studio City business to find "egg agents" with parents struggling with fertility issues, and it's been growing over the last 20 years, reports TODAY.
Shellie Smith is founder of The Egg Donor Program, located at 4184 Colfax Ave. in Studio City, and says she looks high and low for women who have qualities that other people desire.
They profile one woman, Robyn Marie Young, who's an actress and dancer and has donated her genes to The Egg Donor Program four times, which says it will be her last. She first learned of the Studio City business in a magazine ad looking for young women.
Once responding, Young and other prospective "egg agents" go through a battery of tests and background checks, and sometimes even interview with couples seeking eggs.
