SMALL TOWN CAFES
This is the perennial cute cafe. Recently redone with olive and rust walls, select booths and new tables, there's a wide choice of breakfast items including omelets, crepes, pancakes, breakfast burritos and waffles and their special Cinammon Kiss—French baguette dipped in a brandy egg batter, golden brown, glazed in sugar and cinnamon on a bed of banana walnut saute.
You're likely to find cops sitting next to actors at this neighborhood cafe serving breakfast classics, plus the Eggs a la Fisdale—two poached eggs with spinach or ham and topped with tomato and cheese.
With its indoor/outdoor seating, Vivian's begs for an ocean nearby, but Ventura Boulevard will have to do. Basic breakfast of eggs and bacon mix with a wide choice of omelets, signature scrambles and some filling combos. Dogs are welcome at select tables in back.

Home of the best caffe latte around with perfect foam, this indoor/outdoor urban eatery offers an array of egg dishes, pancakes, french toast, a signature breakfast panini and some select Mexican-themed entrees for rustic breakfast fare. The roasted potatoes are not to be missed.
Everything is giant-sized at this sister cafe to Sherman Oaks' Jinky's. Crepes, benedicts, cakes, waffles and eggs every which way.

Another "healthy" eatery with wheat, tofu and gluten-free choices, Hugo's is famous for its Pasta Mama: pasta mixed with eggs and other seasonings. An oatmeal frittata mixes in with egg dishes, pancakes and more.

At 50-plus, this family-owned restaurant is one of the oldest in the 818. If walls and booths could talk, oh, the stories you would hear about some of the biggest entertainment deals being made.
