What Are Those 'I Voted' Stickers Good For? How About Bowling, Burger or a Hot Dog?

Local venues are offering incentives for those who wear their 'I Voted' sticker on Tuesday.

Election Day has its privileges, if you know where to look for them.

Usually, when you leave the voting booth, the best you can expect is a sticker that shows "I Voted" that you can proudly wear for the rest of the day. It's a good way to show your boss why you're late for work.

But in a few places, it's worth more.

Vitello's

Show your voting receipt at Vitello's Jazz & Supper Club and you'll get 20 percent off your dinner (on Tuesday only). They say, "After a long day at work and when your done at the polls... come have dinner and watch the results.

PINZ Bowling Center

Get a free game if you bring in the "I voted" sticker to PINZ on Election Day. You just pay for the shoe rental, and you can bowl a game. (If you're too young to vote, just print out this message and they'll give you a free game, too.)

Carney’s

Not far away from PINZ is the train car Carney's at 12601 Ventura Blvd. where you can also use your "I Voted" sticker for a freebie. Show that or your ballot stub and get a free regular burger or a hot dog—again encouraging people to go out and vote.

The Grilled Cheese Truck

It's a favorite in Studio City (often at some of the local school fundraiser functions), but check out their website at www.thegrilledcheesetruck.com to see where the truck will be located. Present your sticker and get a free shot o soup, pickles or a dipping sauce with your order.

Jet Blue

Jet Blue is asking people to enter in an airline poll if the candidate you selected loses the election. They'll be passing out 1,0006 travel vouchers to go roundtrip to the Caribbean. The winners are picked Nov. 7 and go here for more info: www.jetblueelectionprotection.com

In the past, Starbucks offered a free cup of coffee, and Krispy Kreme offered a free donut, but there is some speculation that such freebies may be against the law in California. An elections code prohibits rewarding people for voting or not voting and carries a prison sentence of 16 months to three years.

There is an exemption if the giveaways are allowed for everyone, whether or not they have a sticker.

The local Starbucks are offering an "Indivisible" bracelet for no charge, no coffee this time.

Dear tbs, Deon Coles black box is the worst tv show ever. Though it is hosted by a black man, it'sRead More a show based on pointing fun and rude Racist jokes directed toward black people. If there was a white host it would be considered racist but because a black man was appointed to be host , you might have figured we wouldn't be offended but we are and I can't speak for all but I feel like resist jokes aren't ok regardless of who is telling them and I would like tbs to take down this show or atleast change the points in the show ! -signed, Kalil Stimpson
