Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – Day 6 – Animal House

Happy Mother’s Day! If you and your mom are spending the morning at the Studio City Farmers Market, be sure to pick up a coupon worth 5 free tickets at the Colfax World Fair. Colfax Charter kids and volunteers will be passing them out, and this coupon will give you free access to several of the games, attractions and delicious dishes you’ll find at next Saturday’s event.  

We continue with the 10-Day Countdown to the Colfax World Fair with another attraction, game or booth, food, silent auction item – all with the theme of Animal House.

Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – Day 6 – Animal House

Attraction: Animal Kingdom

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Your little tyke will be bouncing, dodging and bopping these animals and more in this inflatable obstacle course created especially for toddlers.

Game or Booth: Flip a Frog

Grab your mallet and strike the catapult as hard as you can to flip your flattened frog into the laundry basket a few feet away. This carnival game has been one of the favorites of the fair since the Colfax World Fair started out as a small old time fair over a decade ago.

Food Vendor: Burgers and Hot Dogs

Colfax parents and friends who owe them a favor will be flipping burgers and dogs all day. Want your burger so pink it’s still mooing? Put in your special order and they’ll be sure that you can have it your way.

Silent Auction Item: Sponsor a Colfax Charter Farm Animal

If you have a child who attends Colfax, you’ll definitely want to bid on sponsoring one of Colfax’s many farm animals. You’ll receive a framed photo of you and your child’s animal, a $10 gift certificate to Petco, and the most coveted treat of all: lunch at the farm the first Wednesday of each month. You have your choice of Charlotte the Pig, Princess or Roxy (sheep), or Snowflake, Brownie or Marshmellow (rabbits).

Entertainment: Kate King Band

By day, Kate King is a Colfax mom who tends to the animals at the Colfax farm and spends her time with all the Colfax kids during lunch and on the play yard. But by night, she’s the lead singer of The Red Ball Jets, and performs in clubs and venues throughout the southland. For the fair, she’ll be performing a special acoustic set of your favorite rock & roll.

The Colfax World Fair takes place Saturday, May 18th from noon until 7:00 pm at Colfax Charter Elementary School – 11724 Addison St. in Valley Village. Admission and parking are free. Silent Auction items may be viewed by clicking here.
