Reasons to Vote

I've been trying to write a piece persuading non-voters to vote

But nothing I wrote sounded the right note.

For example:

"A surge of patriotism brought tears to my eyes the day I cast my first vote." (MAUDLIN, but true)

"Please vote.  Our young folks risk their lives and join the fight to protect your voting right." (PLEADING, true but doesn't persuade)

'VOTE!" (DICTATORIAL, not a good idea to sound dictatorial in a Democracy)

"Me vote? Why should I care? There's no jack boot on my stair." (SATIRICAL, but  voting does keep our stairs safe)

Then it came to me:

"VOTE - USE IT OR LOSE IT!"
