I've blogged in the past about my love of the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. But I want to give a big thumbs up to a sweet Studio City non-chain coffee house: The Coffee Fix. The Coffee Fix is located on the southwest corner of Whitsett and Moorpark, next to Ringside Liquor and Market. Simply put, the Coffee Fix is adorable. They offer excellent drinks at reasonable prices, a full breakfast and lunch menu, bookshelves with an open "take a book-leave a book" policy, comfy seating, and free wifi. They also keep an old fashioned Rolodex of customers' punch cards -- so if you happen by and forget your card, you can still earn your punch towards your 12th drink being free. The staff is friendly and fun, and there is pleasant seating facing the Studio City Library. Take a day to step out of the box, set Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf aside, and try your local Mom 'n Pop Coffee Shop!
