Dylan Bocanegra Goes to Work for Guillermo del Toro

Local artist, Dylan Bocanegra has been spending his Spring and Summer Fridays at Blessed Sacrament teaching art to the homeless in Hollywood and in the hills above Studio City - on Tuesdays and Thursdays he is spending his time in an art studio at Wonderland. Here he is showcasing his work along with that of the students he teaches through a new non-profit - 12 Angels.org with new director Eva-Marie Fredric - to assist those who need their hopes - dreams and aspirations given purpose by learning skills as they transition through recovery from drugs and alcohol - back into their daily lives.

The 12 Angels will be spearheading other courses - as well as job opportunities unlike any other organization that have helped the population of addiction. Addiction is a huge part of the world's ills and one80center.com is the umbrella over 12 Angels run by Alex Shohet. Our local young artist will intern with Mirada - Guillermo del Toro's company in Marina Del Rey for school credits in the Fall.

Dylan has grown up in Studio City and is an example of the wonderful opportunities our community helps gift her residents with support.

Dylan was one of Patch's first WHIZ KIDS when his accomplishments came to our attention, and his mother, E.M. Fredric, is the talent behind "Shorty and Morty" which I hope you've enjoyed. Dylan is the art director of that grand project!
