A motorcyclist was killed this afternoon on Mulholland Drive in a solo collision, authorities said.
The accident was reported in the 7600 block of Mulholland near Laurel Canyon just before 4 p.m., according to police and fire officials.
"He lost control and crashed," said Los Angeles police Officer Karen Rayner. "It did not involve another vehicle."
The motorcyclist, who was in his 40s, was not immediately identified.
Traffic was closed on Mulholland in both directions between Wrightwood Lane and Woodrow Wilson Drive for the crash investigation.
