‘Once Upon a Time’ Ed, Rachelle and Raphael Offer Their Green Wish

See the Begleys and Raphael Sbarge this weekend at the Convention Center.

Local couple Ed Begley Jr. and his wife Rachelle Carson-Begley are teaming up with local star Raphael Sbarge (who plays Jiminy Cricket in the hit show Once Upon a Time), will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center this weekend talking about green stuff.

“We're excited to announce our participation in this weekend's Los Angeles Green Festival,” Begley said. “ We're hosting an informational booth at the festival, along with 300 other eco-minded exhibitors and vendors.”

As Green Wish board members, Begley and his wife and Sbarge will be featured speakers on an informational panel titled "The Medium as the Message: Trans-media for Eco-Social Change," on Sunday at 4 pm.

Even at the site of the Begley’s new house under construction in Studio City, some of the construction workers stopped to talk to Sbarge about his role as the cricket in human form that he plays in Once Upon a Time.

Sbarge, told Studio City Patch, “I’m amazed at the success of the show, and proud to be a part of it.”

In this panel on Sunday, they will explore the ways that new digital channels, such as social media and web-based video, are being used to further educate people about making greener choices and effecting eco-change. Esai Morales, a fellow noted entertainer and environmental activist, is also scheduled to speak on the panel.

The Green Festival is a great way to learn about living a greener-focused lifestyle, and features dozens of educational opportunities including:

- a Green Living stage to get tips on reducing your carbon footprint everyday

- a DIY workshop to get training on everything from bicycle repair to raising chickens

- a Community Action stage, where you can learn how to get involved at a local level

And much more, including a Green Kids Zone with green crafts and games for the younger set.  Get the full schedule of events and workshops here.

The Green Festival is a unique opportunity to connect with eco-conscious businesses and individuals, and we hope you'll join us!  Stop by our booth to meet Green Wish in person, and for your shot at a prize basket from Barista Bath & Body, containing natural hair & skin products that are safe, effective and promote the body's regenerative processes.

Tickets are just $15 for two-day admission - pre-purchase yours online

great article Mary! Ms. Korney, she sometimes scared me to death! But always around christmas IRead More think of her and pronounce my letters clearly at the end of a word when I sing. I can still remember the song I had to sing for my final, "If ever I would leave you..." She taught me a lot. I agree with everything you said about Mr. Reeves. I had Mr. Pesin for Algebra, he did nothing to help further my math skills. The biggest flirt around, ick. We had a girl in school at the time that flirted her way to an A and hardly ever went to class. Go figure!! I also thought quite highly of Ms. Requiam. Glad she's still around.
