This Generation's 'Star Trek' Chekov, Actor Anton Yelchin, Buys House in Studio City

The 23-year-old bought the place for $945,000

Anton Yelchin, who plays Chekov in the new generation of Star Trek movies, bought a house in Studio City, not far from the first generation's William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk.

Yelchin is 23 and plays Pavel Chekov in the upcoming Star Trek sequel as well, reprising his role of the young ensign from the 2009 film.

Yelchin bought a gated country English-style one-story house that sits on a quarter of an acre with a swimming pool, a spa and mature trees. The 1,845 square feet of living space features vaulted ceilings, French doors and fireplaces in the living and dining rooms. The house, custom built in 1940, contains three bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms. The property came on the market in March at $999,000.

Yelchin also starred in Terminator Salvation (2009) and Like Crazy (2011). On a personal note, I interviewed him when he was just a lad in his first movie Hearts in Atlantis, in which he co-starred with Anthony Hopkins.
