Wendy Greuel Joins Stage in West Hollywood Gay Marriage Rally

Studio City's own Wendy Greuel joined controller-elect Ron Galperin, Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa, Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black and all the attorneys and plaintiffs in the gay marriage issue on stage in West Hollywood on Wednesday night.

The West Hollywood rally drew thousands to celebrate the U.S. Supreme Court’s rulings on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.

"Milk" screenwriter Black opened the rally. He also introduced, fresh from the East Coast, plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandy Stier and Paul Katami and Jeffrey Zarrillo and attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson.

Perry and Stier taped "The Rachel Maddow Show" from behind the stage.

"Harvey Milk once said we can no longer be satisfied with crumbs," he said. "It’s time that this community stop asking for crumbs and demand the real thing. Because they may find that they could actually get it. And we have today."

West Hollywood Mayor Abbe Land also spoke.

"You are all here at one of the most iconic intersections, Santa Monica and San Vicente, where all LGBT activism happens and today we are here to celebrate that activism," she said. "West Hollywood has always been at the forefront and we are so glad to be able to be hosting this tremendous celebration."

Katami and Zarrillo were ready to make it back home in Burbank, Zarrillo saying, "I can't wait to curl up with him and our doggies in our bed in Burbank tonight."
