First Ballot Count Update for Assembly District 45 and Senate District 26 Special Primary Elections

Dean C. Logan announced the first ballot count update for the Sept. 17 Special Primary Elections in Assembly District 45 and the old Senate District 26.

As of 8 p.m., 29,618 ballots were counted. This initial figure represents the Vote by Mail Ballots received and processed by the RR/CC. It is important to note that a small portion of Assembly District 45 is shared with Ventura County. Full election results can be viewed here.

The Official Election Canvass period begins on Sept. 18 and ends on Sept. 27. During the Official Canvass, all outstanding provisional and Vote by Mail ballots will be verified and tallied. The RR/CC will also conduct a 1% Manual Audit.

On Sept. 27, the RR/CC is tentatively scheduled to certify the results to the California Secretary of State. On Oct. 1, the Board of Supervisors is tentatively scheduled to declare the election results official.
