Bryan Chan and Friends Music Showcase

We are set for another night of music at Jumpcut Café (formally Lulu’s Beehive) at 13203 Ventura Blvd Studio City 91604 Oct. 5th between 6pm and 10pm.. This will be, as always, an up close and intimate performance.  Jump Cut Cafe serves awesome coffee drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads and taste treats. There will be no cover charge for this event. The line up for the night is as follows.
 
6pm to 6:30pm---Rommel Sacan 
His Music is about first world eco-social issues with a third world heart and with an out of this world funk ‘n roll acoustic treatment. Rommel aka Pidro continues the tradition of Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, “Bob Lennon, Bob McCartney” and the fresh insights of Sponge Bob to inspire a musical intifada. He is a cross between Tupac and Weird Al, bridging peace and chaos, tragedy and humor. He uses music as a weapon to question the questions to unmask convenient false answers. His musical objective is designed to create fun and excitement.
 
6:30pm to 7pm---Maii Arai
For more than 3 decades, chart topping songwriter and performing artist Maii Arai has touched hearts and lives with her artistry.

Her songs have been covered by many of Japan’s best known performers, and her compositions used in a wide variety of popular television shows commercials Her first single was featured as the theme song for a major network drama on TBS

Maii seamlessly blends her deep roots in classical, jazz and traditional Japanese music to create her own unique voice, with expressions of love, brotherhood & spirituality, reaching to the heart of the human experience

Previously signed to major labels such as JVC & SONY in Japan, Maii Arai is now stepping forward internationally, collaborating with other writers in other countries to bring the world together through music.

The Jacqi Bowe Variety Show, her popular touring show, delights crowds throughout California. Tonight, she breaks out with comedic songs from her new solo show, Jacqi Bowe's Not Quite Herself Lately, in which she plays five characters, this evening, Dixie Lee, a neo-feminist, upwardly mobile park tenant, entramanure, Senior Stylist at Wish You Were Hair Salon, Weedpatch, Ca, and America's Got Talent -Wanna- Be) Jacqi's quirky style has got critics and fans raving .

7:30pm to 8pm--- Bryan Chan
Bryan Chan playing in the Delta Blues style with his own thought processes involved. Always trying to achieve the goal of giving blues music the heart, soul and respect it deserves. Competed at the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN.

8pm to 8:30pm---Shanna O’Brien
Shanna's career started in the ‘80s -- performing as a folk-rock artist in the Bay area. Her success led to opening for Journey at The Old Waldorf, recording with many of the top Bay Area bands, touring the Orient and her own show at the MGM Grand in Reno.
Shanna has recently returned to the music industry as a singer / songwriter and she is working on her second album of original music with renowned percussionist, Steve Reid.

8:30pm to 9pm--- Luanne Behm and Malcolm Orrall
Luanne and Malcolm are longtime friends and musical collaborators who joined forces to create this guitar based singer-songwriter duo, and are drawing increased attention for their emotionally powerful vocal blend and rich harmonies.
