Bryan Chan and Friends Music Showcase

We are set for another night of music at Jumpcut Café (formally Lulu’s Beehive) at 13203 Ventura Blvd Studio City 91604  Aug 31st between 6pm and 10pm.. This will be, as always, an up close and intimate performance.  Jump Cut Cafe serves awesome coffee drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads and taste treats. There will be no cover charge for this event. The line up for the night is as follows.

6pm to 6:30pm--- Simon Lucas
Simon is a ‘folky’ from England. He has been in the U.S.A. for 30 years but still
speaks funny. He collects stringed instruments, some of which he can even play. He normally plays guitar, but has been known to pick up a string bass, dulcimer, cuatro or marxophone. He has a deep voice and sings a mixture of Irish, Scottish, Country and anything else he hears that he likes. He also has a stock of amusing songs, which sometimes he can be bribed into singing. He refuses to make CDs, so if you want to hear him, you will have to find him onstage playing live.

6:30pm to 7pm--- Barry Cullison
http://podcast.barrycullison.com/   and also http://bluepower.com

“The Van Nuys library wouldn't open for another 45 minutes so we decided to stroll around the area.  It was there that I started hearing this voice coming from        some where.  I started looking for the source and saw a man sitting on a chair, playing a guitar.  I didn't know his name and had never heard him before but he was good and I kept listening.  I was fascinated as I listened to his to his intricate guitar work and poetic lyrics.  I decided to have him come to the BluePower establishment and do an interview.  During our interview Barry played four excellent songs which I think you will find interesting.  His style is unique and exciting.  His vocal abilities are also on par with his playing.  The
combination of both are daunting and considering the fact he played the songs live during the interview, awe inspiring.”

I hope you will enjoy listening to Barry Cullison as I find his songs intellectual and poetic.  Not to mention very "today."
