Bryan Chan and Friends Music Showcase

We are set for another night of music at Jump Cut Café (formerly Lulu’s Beehive) at 13203 Ventura Blvd Studio City 91604 April 26th between 6pm and 10pm.. This will be, as always, an up close and intimate performance.  Jump Cut Cafe serves awesome coffee drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads and taste treats. There will be no cover charge for this event. The line up for the night is as follows.

6pm to 6:30pm---Andy Rigrod
Take a musical trip back in time with Andy. Sure to bring back the memories.

Jacqi Bowe is an accomplished actress, comedian, singer, dancer who started off at UCLA's theater department and has worked in theatre, film and television ever since.

The Jacqi Bowe Variety Show, her popular touring show, delights crowds throughout California. Tonight, she breaks out with comedic songs from her new solo show, Jacqi Bowe's Not Quite Herself Lately, in which she plays five characters, this evening, Dixie Lee, a neo-feminist, upwardly mobile park tenant, entramanure, Senior Stylist at Wish You Were Hair Salon, Weedpatch, Ca, and America's Got Talent -Wanna- Be) Jacqi's quirky style has got critics and fans raving .

7:00pm to 7:30pm--- Andrew Cooper
Andrew Cooper spent most of his childhood in Moreno Valley, CA. At the age of sixteen he started playing guitar and was never able to put it down. The self taught guitarist, singer/songwriter touches multiply genres of music including Blues, Jazz, Classical, and Pop. When he isn't performing his own original material you can catch him playing lead guitar for other talented musicians.
 
7:30pm to 8pm--- Bryan Chan
Bryan Chan always trying to achieve the goal of giving blues music the heart, soul and respect it deserves. Competed at the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN.

8:00pm to 8:30pm---Natasha Wood
Natasha Wood, songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, has been writing and playing music since childhood. Coming from a Brazilian family on her mom’s side, she grew up listening to the great samba and bossa nova legends and fell in love with playing Brazilian music. Inspired by her international travels, passion for creative writing, and foundation in classical and jazz music, she is a prolific songwriter whose compositions are a unique blend of samba, bossa nova, jazz, folk, world, rock, and soul, that tell stories through poetic and inventive lyrics. Natasha’s compositions are ever changing as she carves out a new and exciting musical niche. She is currently recording her second album and can be heard performing at venues in and around her hometown of Los Angeles. Natasha divides her time between making music and working as a shelter veterinarian who cares for homeless and unwanted pets of every size, shape, and form.

Garry's favorite genre of music is a great song.  He has had a number of indie cuts, including one with Lisa O'Kane ("Paper Thin")on her critically acclaimed "It Don't Hurt" CD.  Garry is the cofounder of Twirling Betty, a genre-defying band he formed with Justefanie Strachan in 2010.  Whether he's rockin' with the Bettys, delivering torch songs with Samantha Ahdoot, or just “surfing the neuroses” in a solo set,  Garry promises to take you on a thrill ride of incred----- oh never mind, just sip your latte, and have a Xanax handy.

9:00pm to 9:30pm---Shanna O’Brien
Shanna's career started in the ‘80s -- performing as a folk-rock artist in the Bay area. Her success led to opening for Journey at The Old Waldorf, recording with many of the top Bay Area bands, touring the Orient and her own show at the MGM Grand in Reno.
Shanna has recently returned to the music industry as a singer / songwriter and she is working on her second album of original music with renowned percussionist, Steve Reid.
