Dionne Farris – Dwight Trible & John Beasly @ Upstairs at Vitello's

“Dwight Trible and John Beasly can turn any material into a song of praise. Trible and Beasly taps into the tradition of assigning lyrics to existing jazz standards, aligning themselves with some of the great masters of the art, Jon Hendricks and Eddie Jefferson.

The two firmly wave in and out the jazz singer’s domain of delivering a song true to its story, while composing variations on the tune as he goes.”

“Dionne Farris and Russell Gunn Quartet make beautiful music together”

The sets were recorded over two nights, Oct 12th and 13th 2012, with pianist Louis Heriveaux, drummer Henry Conerway III and bassist Kevin Smith, live at Churchill Grounds in Atlanta, by award winning engineer Alvin Speights. Dionne Get Your Gunn marks Farris’ 3rd full-length release on her independent label, Free and Clear Records.
